EASY, QUICK AND AWESOME!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO PARTY MANIA FOR YOUR DONATION OF GINGER WIGS AND JIMMY HATS!

On August 10, redheads will assemble outside the Balmoral Hotel and walk en mass in the name of Ginger awareness. This inaugural event in Scotland’s capital city is a lighthearted and fun way to stand up against ginger prejudice (‘Gingerism’) and foster a global message that shows the uniqueness of all those red, orange and pale. Although the Ginger Pride march is specifically aimed to support anyone with a tinge-of-ginge, people of all hair colours are welcome to show their support.

With permission from the Edinburgh Council, Team Ginger is excited to facilitate this event using the guidelines outlined by city officials. Not only do these guidelines ensure the safety of the participants, but also our compliance assures that the event will grow with each year. With all the attention brought to the event over the weekend Team Ginger would like to offer the following conditions surrounding the event:

  • Approximately 50 people will assemble outside the Balmoral Hotel on the pavement in North Bridge;

  • Participants will move off via North Bridge, then right onto High Street/Royal Mile to finish under Fringe archway at junction with George IV Bridge;

  • Participants will obey all traffic signals and laws;

  • Participants will not obstruct other pedestrians or force them onto the road and will if need be walk in single file in high traffic areas;

  • Participants will comply with any instructions offered by the professional stewards as well as marshals who are employed by Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
